Description
The Sultanate of Johor became a British protected state under the Unfederated Malay States in 1914, formalizing a treaty of friendship from 1885, following increased pressure for a British advisor to oversee foreign affairs. This era, led by the Temenggong Dynasty, brought modern infrastructure and administrative reforms to the state, ensuring prosperity.
