Description
"Follow Me." The mission of the Marine Infantry Regiment is to defeat the enemy by fire, maneuver, and close combat; to conduct other operations as directed; and to composite task-organized units as required in order to defeat the enemy and otherwise influence the operational environment across the range of military operations. The Mission of the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines is to locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver or repel the enemy's assault with fire and close combat. The 2nd Marine Division is a multi-role, expeditionary ground combat force. The division is employed as the ground combat element of II Marine Expeditionary Force or may provide task-organized forces for assault operations and such operations as may be directed.
