Description

Each county in the Republic of Belavia has its own District Court, led by a Chief Judge. These courts have original jurisdiction over a wide range of cases and play a vital role in the administration of justice at the local level. The Supreme Court, as the highest court of appeal, serves as the guardian of the Constitution and is responsible for resolving disputes between state institutions, setting standards for the legal system, and hearing appeals. Every 150 days, citizens of the Republic of Belavia have the opportunity to elect their county's Public Defender. This individual is charged with leading an independent office dedicated to providing legal representation for those who are unable to secure an attorney on their own. It is a vital role in ensuring that all have access to fair and equal protection under the law.
