Description
The 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards is a light infantry battalion stationed at Lille Barracks in Aldershot. They consist of 2 companies: the Queen's Company and the Inkerman Company. It is the main deployable force of the guards and have been on operations in Iraq, South Sudan and Afghanistan. The 1st Battalion is more rewarding as they regularly conduct infantry training exercises and operations abroad. However, entry into the 1st Battalion is harder and most new recruits are sent to Njimegan Company. The Battalion is commanded by either a Colonel or a Lieutenant Colonel who is assisted by the Regimental Sergeant Major, 1st Battalion.
