Description
The Community of Saint Dionysios the Areopagite was established in 2023 by the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis and Metropolitan Alexandros during a period when the Greek Archdiocese was temporarily inactive. Its purpose was to provide pastoral support to Greek Orthodox faithful, offering liturgical services, catechesis, and social ministry in accordance with Greek liturgical tradition. The community served as a living testimony to the unity of Orthodoxy, with the Romanian Church demonstrating practical solidarity beyond ethno-national boundaries. Today, with the full restoration of the Archdiocese’s functioning, the priests of the community belong to the Church of Greece, and the community itself holds a primarily symbolic role—as a monument of faith, cooperation, and ecclesiastical responsibility.
