Description
"Ice and Dust." First charted in the 2100's, Asura was originally thought to be an unremarkable large asteroid made of ice and common elements. In the decades that followed, sleeper ships found what probes did not, a high concentration of Helium-3 and Rare Metals. The following years saw mining, excavation, and eventually settlement into the mine caverns of the large asteroid. Though ordered to evacuate during the first federal war, the leaders and people of Asura ignored this order. Stalwart and stubborn, Asura Station rode through the storm of the war, stealthily shipping valuable resources to the core colonies, and hiding from the invaders. After the war, the station was revered for its population's sense of identity and solidarity, and their disdain for terrestrial based humans. Asura's Government is a small oligarchy, with a council elected from the main profession guilds on the station, the miners, the movers, and security.
