It was founded by Caesar Vespasianus Augustus to fight for him in the civil war against Vitellius during the Year of the Four Emperors. The Legion would continue to serve the Roman Empire and its successor, the Western Roman Empire, for the next four centuries, until its fall in 476 AD. Though the Empire has crumbled, the Legion endures, upholding its traditions and legacy, often serving as mercenaries for foreign powers and engaging in countless wars and conflicts.
