The Grand Duchy of Moscow is a medieval Russian principality that existed from 1263 to 1478 [1] . Initially , the inheritance of the Grand Duchy of Vladimir , which competed with other specific principalities for the grand princely label issued by the Horde khans. The influx of significant contingents of service people from South-Western Russia at the beginning of the XIV century [2] contributed to the strengthening of Moscow , further strengthening its authority in Russia was the transfer of the chair of the Kiev Metropolitan Peter from Vladimirto ###### ## 1325. Since the 1330s, the Moscow princes, with rare exceptions, have been holders of the grand ducal title, pursuing an active policy of collecting Russian lands .
