Description

1st Battalion, Staffordshire Regiment The Staffordshire Regiment, Prince of Wales’s Own, was an Infantry Regiment of the British Army, part of the Prince of Wales’s Division. Formed on 31 January 1959 by the Amalgamation of the South Staffordshire and the North Staffordshire Regiments. 2007 the regiment was disbanded and amalgamated with the Cheshire, Worcestershire and Sherwood to become the 3rd Battalion, Mercian Regiment presently.
