Description
𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 The Malta Command was an independent command of the British Army created in 1915 that consisted of British and Maltese troops to help defend the Island Colony during conflicts or civil disruptions. The command consisted of standard infantry personnel, artillery personnel, and armoured personnel. The command also had control of several air groups, and was responsible for the defense of arriving navy ships during the Second World War. The command was disbanded in 1977, shortly after Malta became a republic as it was deemed unnecessary for a permanent British garrison to be stationed in Malta anymore.
