Description

Humanity in its present form has been around for a quarter of a million years, but only the last four thousand have had any significance. So, what have we been doing for almost 250,000 years? We huddled in caves around campfires, afraid of things we didn't understand. It was something more than an explanation of why the sun rises: it was the secrets of huge birds with the heads of people and living rocks. We called them "gods" and "demons" and began to pray for their protection and salvation. As time went by, there were fewer of them and more of us. As the fears subsided, the world began to become more understandable. But still, the inexplicable could not disappear for good, as if the Universe itself demanded the absurd and impossible. Humanity will no longer hide in fear. No one else will protect us, we must stand up for ourselves.
