Description
πππππ‘ ππ§πππ§ππ«π² πππ π’π¦ππ§π; ππ¨π¦π©ππ§π² π The 155th New York Infantry was organized out of Buffalo, New York, and mustered in for three years service on November 18, 1862, at Newport News, Virginia, under the command of Colonel William McEvily. On Jan. 29, 1863, the regiment moved on the Blackwater expedition, under Col. Murphy, and was under fire for the first time at the Deserted House, suffering a few casualties. The heaviest subsequent losses of the regiment were sustained in the battles of Boydton plank road in October in March, 1865, when its casualties were 20 and 12, respectively.
