𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ═────────────────────────────────────────═ The 1st Sharpshooters were established in 1860 as the threat as the Civil war loomed over the divided states. Its soldiers were equipped with the powerful Sharps rifle .52 cal. and were picked from strict qualifications and those with special skills.
