Description
The Supreme Continental Court shall be the court of final appeal and last resort on all matters of law in Antarctica. The maximum number of judges, styled “Justices”, on the Court may be set by law but shall not exceed nine at any time. The Court shall have the power of judicial review and shall be responsible for resolving disputes in regards to the constitutionality and legality of laws and actions of the Government. The precedent set by the Court shall be adhered to by any inferior courts that may be established by the Senate from time to time. There shall be a specially appointed Chief Justice who shall be one of the judges of the court with the additional responsibility for the oversight and administration of the Court’s affairs. In all other matters, the Chief Justice shall act as a first among equals.
