Description
We present to potential investors the possibilities of a special economic zone that exists in Korea. A special economic zone was established in the north-eastern part of the DPRK, near the border with China and Russia. The zone is part of a larger project called Tumen River Economic Development Area (TREDA), which stretches from Mount Paektu and the city of ------ in DPRK to the city of Yanji in China and Nakhodka in Russia. Since 1996, the zone has attracted $ 300 million in investment, 60% of which in the last two years. For investors, the zone offers a very attractive location enabling easy rail and sea transport to Russia and China. The Tumen zone offers extraordinary advantages that are difficult to find anywhere in Asia, such as a connection to the Trans-Siberian Railway. Analysts predict that this zone will face a sharp increase in the amount of foreign investment.
