Description
норильск (Norilsk) is the northernmost city in the world with a population of over 150,000 people; its population is 182,701 [5] people (2021). The city is the second largest in terms of population in the region after Krasnoyarsk. Since 2016, the annual population has been steadily growing. Since 2017, for the first time, a migration influx of the population has been observed; natural population growth in 2018, according to Krasnoyarskstat, amounted to 1357 people: 2381 people were born, 1024 people died. Large center of non-ferrous metallurgy . The city-forming enterprise is the Polar Branch of the Norilsk Nickel Mining and Metallurgical Company (formerly the Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Combine ).
