Description
The 42nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, also known as the "Bucktails," was a highly respected Union regiment during the American Civil War. Composed of skilled hunters and outdoorsmen, they were known for their bravery and discipline in battles such as Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. They also had a significant number of Native American soldiers. Overall, the Bucktails played an important role in preserving the Union cause.
