Naval Air Station Whidbey Island "The home of electronic attack" This Naval Base is on the home of the EA-18G Growler Electronic attack Aircraft. Whidbey island was built during World War II as a seaplane base to keep an eye out in the pacific during the war, now the base is where all growler squadrons call there home. We have many different squadrons that you could be a pilot or an EWO(Electronic Warfare officer) For VAQ-130 the Zappers, VAQ-131 the Lancers, VAQ-133 the Wizards, VAQ-134 the Garudas VAQ-136 the Gauntlets, VAQ-140 the Patriots, VAQ-141 the Shadowhawks, And VAQ-142 the Grey Wolves. But before you can man up a jet and sore over the base serving your country you must go into the RAG were you learn to fly or learn how to be an EWO in VAQ-129 the Vikings Rag squadron. Growlers one of the most important aircraft in the navy's airwing, The Growler is based on the F/A-18F super hornet, our jets can go past Mach 1 and as slow as 90 knots.
