Description
The New Jersey State Police is a State level authority established in 1929 primarily tasked with patrolling and upholding the law on New Jersey's highways. They primarily enforce traffic laws and provide support to local law enforcement whenever local law enforcement encounters scenarios that are high risk or otherwise out of the normal operational doctrine of the local law enforcement agency. The agency specializes in traffic enforcement and has divisions dedicated to crime detection and prevention. The NJSP has jurisdiction across the entire state of New Jersey.
