Mayflower LegisIative Branch #14195286
Description
The General Court of Mayflower is the heart of the Commonwealth’s administration and its legacy dates back to the first days of self-rule in 1620. This is the legislature of the state, the legislator that affects Mayflower’s laws, policies, and direction based upon the will and wisdom of its people. The Court, a constitutional body, balances tradition with the demands of modern governance, and ensures that the freedoms the first settler gained survive the present. The General Court works, chooses, and envisions the future of the Commonwealth while meeting in historic chambers that echo the voices of generations past. In every town, in the port, and in the village, it serves the state justice, compassion, and a true respect for heritage, all of which spring from the work of its workers in Mayflower, from busy ports and busy towns to peaceful valleys and coastal isles. The legislators embody the values of the Commonwealth, such as civic duty, resilience, and pride in the land and people
