RANGERS LEAD THE WAY! ================================================= The 2nd Ranger Battalion is one of five battalions under the 75th Ranger Regiment in the United States Army. The Army Rangers program began in 1943. American High Command wanted their own version of the Royal Commandos of the British Army. The Army Rangers began their training with the Royal Commandos. ================================================= Company D (DOG) was a very decorated Company. Two sergeants from Dog Company were credited with destroying the coastal artillery at Pointe Du Hoc on June 6th, 1944. That winter, the Company, along with Charlie, Easy, and Fox, assaulted Hill 400 in the Eifel region of Germany.
