Description
The Uniformed Militia of Foxdale (Also referred to as either the Foxdale Guard or simply the Militia) is the state-troop formation raised by the town of Foxdale as both its standing guard and as an official military formation of The Freeguild Commonwealth. When not deployed on active duty during times of war the militia spends its time defending both the stone walls of the town and its surrounding areas, always ready to defend its people. The militia is formed out of 4 battalions alongside several company-sized auxiliary units. The first 3 battalions are made up of musketeers and form the main fighting bulk of the militia, while the 4th battalion (swordsmen) acts as potent melee troops and defensive line for the other battalions. There are also many smaller auxiliary companies that support the main fighting force such as the pathfinders, the main scouting and skirmish unit of the town, or the artillery which operates a mix of cannons and mortars to decimate enemy formations.
