G59 03 08 22 Inspired by $B and the underground rap scene, G59 Records (also known as Grey 59) is an independent record label founded by underground hip-hop artists $B (Ruby da Cherry and $crim). The label was created to have full control over their music, escape the restrictions of major labels and support other artists with a similar vision. Mainly focuses on genres such as underground rap, trap, punk rap and emo rap, with influences of metal and dark sounds. In addition to $B, the label has worked with artists such as Germ, Ramirez, Shakewell and Night Lovell, among others. G59 prides itself on maintaining a DIY ethic, prioritizing creativity and authenticity over commercial success. The name “G59” refers to the clinical diagnostic code F59, which in some medical systems is used to classify non-specific mental and behavioral disorders, which fits with the dark and emotional themes they address in their songs.
