Description
Särskilda operationsgruppen (SOG) is Sweden’s elite special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces. Established in 2011, it was formed by merging two earlier special forces units to create a highly versatile and modern capability. SOG’s operators are trained for missions such as counter-terrorism, direct action, and special reconnaissance, both in Sweden and abroad. Entry is highly selective, and all members are professional soldiers with advanced training. While many details about the unit remain classified, SOG is recognized internationally as a top-tier special operations force and often works alongside partner nations.
