Description
WELCOME TO TAIRA CLAN_ History: Taira Family, also called Heike, Japanese samurai (warrior) clan of great power and influence in the 12th century conquered the whole Kanto district. The Minamoto clan is a great rival of Taira clan. In the second era of power, former emperor Shirakawa summoned Taira Masamori, a descendant of Taira of Kantō with considerable local power in the Ise district. This was done to suppress the Minamoto clan. Taira family took up positions as court officials, governing almost half of all the provinces and owning more than Minamoto. Taira Clan soon came to be rebelled against and defeated by the Minamoto Clan in the great sea battle of Dannoura in 1185.
