Description
Bocchi the Rock! is a slice-of-life comedy and music anime based on the manga by Aki Hamaji. It centers around Hitori Gotoh, a high school girl suffering from extreme social anxiety and communication difficulties. Despite this, she secretly harbors a dream of being a rock star and has spent years mastering the guitar in solitude, gaining online fame under the alias "guitarhero." Her lonely existence changes dramatically when she's unexpectedly scouted (or rather, dragged off the street) by Nijika Ijichi, a cheerful drummer looking for a guitarist for her fledgling group, Kessoku Band. Hitori, nicknamed "Bocchi" (a play on "hitoribocchi," meaning 'alone' or 'loner' in Japanese), joins Nijika, the cool and eccentric bassist Ryo Yamada, and later the charismatic vocalist/guitarist Ikuyo Kita.
