The Liberian National Police maintain and enforce the law in both the military and civilian sector for the Republic of Liberia. The Inspector-General of Police is nominated by the President and approved by the Senate (or House of Reps. in the absence of the Senate). The IGP serves at the discretion of the President unless impeached and removed by congress.
