Description
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐢 The Skiritai were elite light infantry that come from the region of Skiritis, known for their agility and versatility on the battlefield. Unlike the heavily armored Spartan hoplites, Skiritai wore lighter armor and wielded javelins and small shields, allowing them to excel in skirmishing, reconnaissance, and disrupting enemy formations. Though not full Spartan citizens, their crucial role in supporting and complementing the Spartan army's heavier forces made them an essential part of Spartan military strategy.
