𝙺𝚄𝙽𝙶𝙻𝙸𝙶𝙰 𝚂𝚅𝙴𝙽𝚂𝙺𝙰 𝙰𝚁𝙼É𝙽 During the great northern war spanning from 1700-1721, the Swedish army was the most professional and capable soldiers in the world, known as "Caroleans". They defeated the great powers of Denmark, Russia, Saxony, and Poland, often despite heavily outnumbered. Under the leadership of Karl XII, the Swedes proved themselves as a major capable force on the battlefield. In 1708, Karl sets out on a new campaign, an invasion of Russia. In 1709, the Russian and Swedish army meet eachother at the famous battle of Poltava, to decide the faith of Europe itself.
