𝗦𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝘂𝗺 ⚔️ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Sultanate of Rum (1077–1308) was a Turkic Muslim state founded in Anatolia after the Seljuk victory over the Byzantine Empire at the Battle of Manzikert in 1071. It was established by Suleiman ibn Qutalmish and later ruled from Konya. At its height in the 12th–13th centuries, the sultanate controlled much of Anatolia and prospered through trade routes connecting the Mediterranean and Asia. It became an important cultural center and hosted scholars such as Jalal ad-Din Rumi. Its power declined after defeat by the Mongol Empire at the Battle of Köse Dağ in 1243.
