Il Comando unità forestali, ambientali e agroalimentari dipende gerarchicamente dal Comandante Generale dell’Arma dei Carabinieri e funzionalmente dal Ministro delle politiche agricole alimentari e forestali per le materie afferenti alla sicurezza e tutela agroalimentare e forestale. Del Comando, inoltre, si avvale il Ministro dell’ambiente e della tutela del territorio, del mare e del turismo limitatamente allo svolgimento delle specifiche funzioni espressamente riconducibili alle attribuzioni dello stesso Ministero.
