𝕝𝕒 𝕃é𝕘𝕚𝕠𝕟 É𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕟𝕘è𝕣𝕖 ʟᴇɢɪᴏ ᴘᴀᴛʀɪᴀ ɴᴏꜱᴛʀᴀ ʜᴏɴɴᴇᴜʀ ᴇᴛ ꜰɪᴅÉʟɪᴛÉ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴇᴠᴇʀᴀɴᴄᴇ The French Foreign Legion also known as Légion Étrangère was founded on March 9th 1831. It was a suggestion from the Minister of war Nicolas Jean-de-Dieu Soult. After Louis Phillipe heard the news of the suggestion he acted on it and decided to form the branch of the French Armed Forces. After the formation of the Legion it was decided that over 120 nationalities could apply to join and then proceed to gain citizenship after 3 years of service or were injured in combat. The notable difference between the army and the legion are the rank slides of the army are red as the legion are green. Here's some major history of the legion: The legion used to be home to roughly 1000 men by the 1950s now there are over 9,500 combined men and women in the legion. The legion has been involved in every major conflict that the French army and allies have been involved in.
