Description
His Royal Majesty's Royal Footgaurds, also known as the King's Footguard or Lifeguard formed in the 1630s. It was kept at a strength of 600 to 1200 men; half of which were spearmen and half of which were musketeers. It is noted as a 'German' Infantry but was actually was comprised of men from German-speaking areas of Poland or in Lithuania from the Baltic provinces of Couronia and Livonia as well as Pomerania and Prussia. The only known leader of the regiment is Fromhold Wolf von Ludinghausen. It wore Western pattern Blue uniforms lined Yellow
