𝐇𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐭-𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐳𝐢-𝐲𝐞 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐚 Representation of the Qajar Persia during the Great War. Although Persia was officially neutral in First World War, it endured a joint Anglo-Russian occupation to prevent a German coup. Persia is surrounded by invaders on all sides, on the west border the Ottoman forces continues to invasion Persian lands, Russian forces were present in the northern parts of Persia, and British forces were in control of the situation in the south of the country. The central government of Persia practically controlled only parts of central Persia but the Persian government was forced to abandon neutrality and enter into an alliance with the Allies. From 1917 onwards, Persian diplomats began to realise that the peace intended to end the ongoing conflict would not be based on the foundations of traditional diplomacy.
