Description
𝐐𝐨š𝐮𝐧-𝐞 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲 Representation of the Persian Army during the Great War. The Persian Army saw limited service during the Persian Campaign of the First World War. Had no air force or navy at the start of war, and the estimated number of Persian ground forces was about 7,000. The few available troops were hardly effective as a fighting force. This was in fact a highly ineffective force. Military equipment especially guns and cannon were mostly outdated and of substandard quality. In addition, Persian forces were not national and not entirely under the control of the government. The Cossack brigade was formed by the Russians, the Gendarmerie had Swedish commanders, the Persian nomads who were armed did not take orders from the government. In First World War, Persia was neutral. In reality, Persian forces were affected by the rivalry between the Allied Powers and the Central Powers and took sides based on the conditions.
