COMPNOR sought to replace the old COMPOR, or the Commission for the Preservation of the Republic, a populist organization during the era of the Clone Wars that propped up and promoted Sheev Palpatine's ascension to the role of Supreme Chancellor. COMPNOR is rightly seen as a collection of only the most loyal within the Empire. _________________
