Description
The Galactic Empire more commonly referred to as simply the Empire was the authoritarian galactic government that succeeded the Galactic Republic in the Clone Wars' aftermath and ushered in an ### of tyranny known as the "dark times". Behind closed doors, the regime was the final reincarnation of the ancient Sith Empire, ruled by Emperor Darth Sidious (Palpatine) jointly with his apprentice, the acting Commander-in-Chief Darth Vader.
