While advocating for mutant rights, the X-Men are strong believers in cooperation with humans, and put their lives on the line to defend them. However, not all mutants share the same views as Xavier and his students. One such mutant is one who calls himself Magneto, who started a group of his own with views of mutant unity known as The Brotherhood of Mutants. This has led to a long lasting rivalry between Magneto and Xavier.
