1st Rifles Battalion - Rifle Detachment [INFORMATION] The 1st Battalion also known as 1RIFLES is the light infantry battalion of the rifles. Our main role is to patrol the FOB and Garrison providing light infantry support and utilising our specific skills in long range combat and reconnaissance. During the army reforms this battalion also houses the RIFLES detachment that will split and become various companies of the rifle regiment. [COMPANIES] The 1st Battalion is home to 3 rifle companies. These are Alpha Company, Bravo Company and Charlie Company: - ACoy is the main combat unit of 1RIFLES. - BCoy is the reserve unit operating at Aldershot. - CCoy is the special combat unit of 1RIFLES, their main role is to provide infantry support to UKSF contingents.
