Description
The 239th Engineer Battalion was raised in the Korean War primarily for the activation of demolition activities using high-yield explosives, and only expanded during the Vietnam War when it become a primary proponent of the use of chemical weapons such as Agent Orange and helped perform much of the on-site study regarding their effectiveness. The 239th where retained under ANG following the conclusion of these major engagements and now primarily supports other units with its engineering, CBRN and ordinance handling capabilities.
