Description
The 312th was originally assigned to serve under the Central Security Service and supply military personnel for its operations, but following the re-organization of army intelligence components under the Intelligence & Security Command in 1977, it was transitioned into its status as a National Guard unit. In spite of this, it has remained active in multiple combat theaters and is said to primarily draw its member base from active-service personnel transitioning to a reserve component following extensive deployments.
