Description
The Union Fire Company has protected the city as a paid fire department since 1964. The City hosts a wide variety of opportunities for members of the fire company. The company is the only paid public safety agency independent from city funding. The fire company is looking for new members all the time, both volunteer and career. The city is home to 6 fire houses. 2 of which are the original fire house from the Volunteer days of the Union fire company which date back to ##### ##### ############# the city opened 4 new fire houses. A few have been reorganized today to modern day stations for the districts of the city they cover. You can even find some old decommissioned fire houses across the city that the fire company still owns. ######### is proud to be home to a very large and still operational steel industry. The steel industry is on the port side of our city and protected by the Union Fire Company since unionization in 1964.
