When the Confederacy of Independent Systems was finally destroyed and the Jedi Order attempted coup failed, a new order was needed to preserve the safety and security of the galaxy. The Galactic Empire rose from the ashes of a decadent republic and a corrupt galactic senate. The Empire became an undeniable superpower in the galaxy, star systems united under one banner and one ruler, Emperor Sheev Palpatine.
