Det Danske Dampskib-Selskab A/S (or DDDS) was formed as the result of a merger between the Dansk-Norge Ferge Selskabet and the Frederiksen & Møllers Sejlfragt Kompagni, though the date of the merger is unknown due to a fire in the companies archive. DDDS has been known as one of the most previlent Danish Shipping lines, building their first vessel out of many, in 1852.
