Description

USMC/PENTAGRAM, 88th "Easy Eights" Combat Engineering Group The 88th Combat Engineering Group, known as the "Easy Eights", is a combat engineering unit under the 109th Marine Expeditionary Force. The unit is a hybrid defense-offense unit, opting to serve both as sappers and as demolitionists against heavily fortified regions. The 88th is known for its destructive tactics in urban warfare, opting to use explosives and heavy equipment to displace well-defended regions while rapidly constructing mobile firebases. It is often referred to as the "Trench Sweepers" by the regular Marines and has had great effectiveness in suppressing riots both domestic and abroad. The nickname "Easy Eights" come from the 88th's usage of M4E8 Shermans in their insignias and emblems. Widespread, adaptable, and powerful in numbers, they are the embodiment of the Sherman's strength and protection in times of war.
