1882 — USA The conclusion of the American Civil War in 1865 would result in an economic explosion all-across the nation, fueling westward expansion across mainland North America. 'Manifest destiny', a phrase and cultural belief would further fuel mass migration into the American frontier, as prospectors and entrepreneurs sought the fortunes that would reside within the new and foreign territories.
