Era: Late Victorian Community: (Pending) Ad Mortem From the time of Gustavus Adolphus to Oscar II in 1901, Sweden's military achievements showcased a mix of successes, setbacks, and doctrinal shifts that would be recreated the world over. From the use of Swedish brigades in the thirty years war, to the tactic of "Gå På" in Sweden's proclaimed Stormaktstiden that revolutionized warfare for the next 200 years, Sweden had been a military force to be reckoned with. Having been defeated in the Great Northern War, Sweden took on an isolationist view causing it to avoid conflict on a major scale during the bulk of the 19th Century. Now, with global tensions on the rise, the Kingdom of Sweden is once again mobilizing for a major conflict in Europe.
