Leib-Bataillon „von Pröstler” #15397966
Description
The Leib-Bataillon was formed under the orders of Major von Pröstler on Jan. 1, 1815. The battalion was made up of veterans of the Peninsular War and wore the same uniform as the Brunswick-Lüneburg Jägers which fought under British service in Spain. They are famous as the only infantry battalion as of 1815 to wear the Totekopf or Death Head plaque on their shakos. The battalion did not carry a flag, the one used is so it is not iconless.
