La Garde impériale de Franceᅠᅠ #15403638
Description
Napoleon I oversaw a small, elite unit of French Army soldiers known as the Imperial Guard (French: Garde Impériale), which expanded significantly over time. It served as his bodyguard and tactical reserve, and he exercised caution while employing it in combat. The staff, infantry, cavalry, and artillery regiments, along with marine and Sappeur battalions, made up the several divisions of the Guard. The guard was divided into three groups: the Old Guard, Middle Guard, and Young Guard, allowing it to distinguish between veterans with more experience and newer recruits. 🦅La Garde meurt mais ne se rend pas!🦅
