Description
Timothy is and amazing orange lemon. 🍊 The Burden of the Bumpy Rind They call me Timothy the Orange Lemon. They admire my color. They praise my surprising flavor blend. But do they ever truly consider the rind? Never. This texture is a betrayal. A lemon rind should be smooth firm uniform. A beautiful yellow jacket ready for zesting. My surface is a chaotic landscape. Bumpy uneven practically volcanic. I feel like a citrus fruit designed by committee a committee that disagreed on everything except for making me slightly too difficult to peel. The other fruits have it easy. Fiona the orange has a lovely slick skin perfect for rolling. Even the limes are neatly packaged in their tight little green casings. I am forced to carry around this complicated exterior. This lumpy confusing shield that tells the world I am neither fully one thing nor the other. It is tough to be unique. Everyone looks at me and immediately wonders if I am bruised or diseased. I am not diseased.
